All clinical hours are done at Ellis Medicine as this school is owned by the hospital. The program is clinical heavy, which I loved as it gave me ample time to become comfortable on a nursing unit, and learn the flow of real life nursing practice. If you want an easy ride or are unsure what you want to do with your life, then maybe go somewhere else first. This is a great school for students serious about being well equipped for success in the nursing profession. Quigley did graduate work on the topic of men in nursing, and this makes male students much more comfortable entering into this "woman's profession". Sheldon are all terrific administrators that set a great standard of practice and tone for everyone else in the school. Also, the school's administration have their heads squarely attached to their shoulders. I have, on rare occasions, had a difficult interaction or experience with 1 instructor in 10, but nothing that we could not work thru. In short, almost all of the instructors there are incredibly helpful and invested in their students' success. The difficult 1 or 2 instructors are exceptions to that rule. I am very grateful for my education at Swedish Institute, which has prepared me for my career. As a result, I was well prepared to pass the NCLEX on my first try two months after graduation. The program was well structured for an accelerated program. In addition, our lab experience has exposed us to many high-tech simulations that mimic real-world patient scenarios. They were always an email or texted away. They always encourage us to engage with our patients and ensure our assessment is done correctly. Our clinical professors were very knowledgeable and helpful. We were hands-on at the bedside of our patients in the hospital. I quickly realized I had to commit 100% of myself to my studies to succeed. In addition, the nursing program is very fast pace. Many of the teachers are genuinely interested in student success.
